About Us - Faribault MN Elks

A majestic elk standing in a forest clearing.

A Community of Service, Friendship, and Tradition

The Faribault Elks Lodge is more than just a place to gather—we are a community dedicated to giving back, supporting veterans, and making a difference in the lives of those around us. As part of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, we take pride in our mission to promote charity, justice, and patriotism while fostering strong bonds among our members.

Our lodge actively supports local charities, youth programs, and veteran initiatives through fundraising and volunteer efforts. Whether it’s organizing donations, lending a hand to those in need, or hosting community events, we are committed to making a positive impact.

Beyond our charitable work, we come together to enjoy great company and create lasting memories. From Burger Nights and Fish Fry Fridays during Lent to karaoke, live music, and chili cook-offs, there’s always something happening at the lodge. We also gather to watch the Vikings during football season, celebrate special occasions like Flag Day, and welcome members to socialize at our bar.

If you’re looking for a place to connect with like-minded individuals, give back to the community, and enjoy great events, we invite you to visit us! Stop by during posted hours or reach out to learn more about becoming part of our Elks family.

Frustrated by a New York City law that forced all bars to close on Sundays, the group formed a social and fraternal club to bypass the loneliness of the day, calling themselves the "Jolly Corks."

The name came from a trick-joke Vivian had learned in England, where members had to be ready to pull a cork out of their pocket and buy a round of drinks or pay a fine

The Order spends more than $80,000,000 every year for benevolent, educational and patriotic community-minded programs in such fields as benefitting special needs children, sponsoring Elks National Foundation scholarships, scouting, athletic teams, veterans' works, a national "Hoop Shoot" free-throw contest involving more than 3 million children, physical and occupational therapy programs and patriotic programs.

The youth of our country have always been important to the Order. It is for this reason the Elks Drug Awareness Education Program was launched to warn primary grade students and their parents of the dangers in drug use. Additionally, every lodge observes June 14th as Flag Day, a tradition which the Elks began in 1907 and was later adopted by the Congress as an official observance.
